Improving Health and Wellness Around the World

The Global Health Communication Center (GHCC) partners with a wide range of stakeholders interested in improving health and well-being locally and globally. From multi-method research projects to the design and implementation of evidence-supported interventions, the GHCC focuses on understanding the complexities of health-related behaviors in an effort to advance worldwide quality of life for individuals, families, and communities.

The GHCC embraces the World Health Organization’s definition of health as “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” Consistent with a rapidly growing body of research recognizing the profound importance of our social interactions in all aspects of health, our “Communication for Whole Health” perspective offers an innovative approach for scholars and practitioners to understand and address many of the multi-faceted contextual challenges we face in healthcare in the 21st century.
